Spiritual care
Creating respectful spaces for spiritual growth and reflection.

Spiritual care
The Gateway of Hope’s Spiritual Care program provides one-on-one spiritual care as well as regular community and faith-building events open to staff, clients, and residents. The Gateway of Hope believes that all human beings possess an inherent dignity as the image of God and deserve safe spaces to explore questions of faith, meaning, and purpose.
Anyone who chooses to participate in the Gateway of Hope’s Spiritual Care programming is given a safe and confidential space to explore, wrestle with, and discern their own faith, spirituality, and relationship with God.
One-on-One Counsel and Prayer
The Gateway of Hope is committed to showing the love of God to its community by fostering relationships in both one-on-one and group settings. Anyone is welcome to sit with our Spiritual Care Coordinator for open-ended dialogue or a time of prayer. This is not a counselling session, but rather a time to feel safe, heard, and loved.
Our Spiritual Care Coordinator can provide spiritual direction, prayer, and care to any shelter guest, resident or community member that seeks their services.
Please call or email dryden.demchuk@salvationarmy.ca to make an appointment or speak to the Spiritual Care Coordinator before coming for a visit so they can make the time to spend with you.
